Wordpress Virtual Appliance
Jumpbox has released the "Wordpress Blogging JumpBox", a pre-configured Wordpress Virtual Appliance. Welcome to the club, the Gallery Appliance has been available for quite some time now. While it doesn't seem like this is an "official" appliance from Automattic, I'm glad to see that more independent Open Source application developers release their software as virtual appliances, it really makes it easy for end users to evaluate the applications in a controlled environment.Post metadata

hey thanks for the mention. The goal of JumpBox is to make opensource apps accessible to non-tech people. you are correct that we’re not the Wordpress guys and therefore this is not an official WP-sponsored appliance. we’re focused on the technology for wrapping open source to solve deployment concerns and abstract the complexity of setup away from the user so they can run OS apps without knowing anything about the LAMP stack. it sounds like you have extensive experience w/ appliances- we’d love to have your feedback on how the JumpBox technology works and what you’d like to see done differently.
thanks again for the mention (from a fellow 9rule’r)

I’ll give Jumpbox and Wordpress appliance a spin an provide some feedback, sure. I’d be interested in looking at how we could potentially use this for Gallery as well so it’s a genuine interest.
