Testing It's All Text!

Skippy pointed me to a Firefox Add-on called It's All Text! that basically makes any textarea editable via an external editor.

So, this is just a quick test post using it and posting to the Habari write post page via Notepad2

Very nice!

This is a test of using the extension to write a comment.

    It worked!

Gotta chime in for the Mac crowd, which is probably non-existent on your site :D

I stumbled across a similar feature in TextMate. Now, out of all the blogging tools available to me, I don’t know where to compose posts :D

Thumb: I get more mac users that you think, probably due to the “how to run osx in vmware” post though.

Interestingly I have the same problem, lots of tools makes it hard to choose. One thing I really liked about “It’s All Text!” is that even if I change tabs in Firefox and then hit save in my text editor of choice it gets posted properly. Another great thing is that, especially on my laptop, I have a tendency to hit the wrong keys and accidentally close a tab or something similar. Having the post/comment/whatnot in your text editor instead of in your browser makes those kinds of accidents less likely to happen.
