This has to be the most accurate description of my Viking life ever.

Ok, I admit it. It's a vanity search if there ever was one, but I still find this pretty funny. I did a Google Groups on my name, and found the first ever Usenet posting I made. Sat, 25 Dec 93 12:33:00 +0100 isn't to shabby I guess. That actually means I missed my 10 year Internet anniversary though. Such a shame, I should have had a big party, shouldn't I.

Anyway, that message was posted via a local BBS called Yankee Rose and that broadcasted it to Usenet via FidoNet. I guess thats not real internet connectivity, so I continued digging. The first trace of me using a proper email adress and true internet usage is this.
Sun, Oct 23 1994 4:26 am seems to be the first trace. So, that means that I'm still on track for my 10th anniversary, and that corresponds well with the party planned on Oct. 16 to celebrate my wife's birthday (at least that what she thinks it's about :-) ).

Also, when digging trough all this I actually found a reference to the old BBS's I used, and the one I ran myself! Slashdot ran an article called "Every BBS there Ever was". Search for "Soda" or "Circle Of Protection" (my old BBS :-) )

Normally, I don't get much postal mail. Mostly bills, very seldom anything personal. So, imagine my suprise today when out of my mailbox came a yellow box!

Wondering what the hell this was, I read the labels on it. Then it dawned on me, some time ago (the 20th July 2004 to be precise) Jens, one of the main Gallery developers asked for my adress on IRC.

He never responded, but I guess now was the time to find out what that devious German had sent me. Inside I found a o decipher I think I understood it after a while.
Besides the note, he had actually sent me a Playmobil Viking! My "title" in the Gallery Forums is Voluminous Viking and I used to have a Playmobil Viking as my Avatar.
I guess I'll have to start using that one again now :-).

This just goes to show now nice the Gallery-team is! Bharat sent me my ThinkGeek T-shirt and now Jens sendt me a Viking!

I just got a bottle of Whiskey from Paul-Michael Agapow and Joan (of Gallery fame)! Never heard of it before, but it has a way cool name.
