Read the rest of Garret's excellent summary here. Outlook Web Access was indeed very much a pioneering piece of webapplication in it's first version, and still is. To bad the rest of the world didn't catch up until now, and dubbed it AJAX and Web 2.0 (argh, I never thought I would use that term).
